PRODUCT DETAILS

  • Conductive Vinyl Floor Matting
Provides a flooring surface that does not generate a static charge and will act as part of the path-to-ground for an operator wearing ESD footwear
  • Rtg: < 1 x 106ohms per ANSI/ESD 7.1 and ESD TR53
Meets the required limits of ANSI/ESD S20.20 and is suitable flooring component in personnel grounding Footwear/Flooring System (Ref: STM97.1 and STM97.2). The resistance range of the surface layer remains low enough to act as a path to ground with the normal build-up of dirt and grime on the mat.
  • Non-carbon loaded, non-sloughing and permanently conductive
Providing a static-safe conductive work area for a wide variety of applications where ESD properties are required.
  • Made in the United States of America
This item is stocked in Canton, MA

FAQs

How does an ESD mat protect electronics?
The mat provides a controlled path to ground for static charges, bleeding them away from sensitive equipment and components placed on the surface.
What is the difference between conductive and dissipative mats?
Conductive mats move charge very quickly, while dissipative mats move charge at a slower, safer rate to prevent sparks (10^6 to 10^9 ohms).
Do ESD mats require special cleaning?
Yes, use only ESD-safe cleaners; standard soaps can leave an insulative film that destroys the mat's grounding capabilities.
Where should the grounding cord be attached?
The cord should be connected to a dedicated ESD ground point or a known building ground, such as the screw on a grounded electrical outlet.
Can I use an ESD mat on a carpeted floor?
While it helps, an ESD mat is most effective on a hard surface; for carpet, you may need specialized ESD-safe floor treatments or anti-static chair mats.
